Belton,TX --Roger's Park (April, 2002)
Here's the pics and some stories from the SFA Climbing Club's trip to Roger's Park. We took off from SFA 8am from Java Jacks on Sunday, January 20th and took the three to four hour road trip west. Steve Williams (not me) packed all the crash pads and climbing gear into his Bronco and I loaded up my Neon with people. My poor Neon, not used to the weight, bottomed out on every railroad track from SFA to Killeen. We got to Roger's Park around noon and headed straight for the rock.
All the injuries you see in the pictures were to one person. Do not think that climbing is going to get you hurt. It is only Steve. We all climbed on Sunday, then came back sore and climbed for 4 more hours on Monday. It's just too much to resist. Even the road trip was fun telling odd stories and trying to pass notes out car window on a string at 70 mph! (Have to use fishing line next time).
